Severance or Special Payment Received?

Has anyone from the mid January layoff communication received either Severance payment or Special Payment?

Guessing all of this, as well as PTO payout will all come after term date, but just checking because of the language in the agreement:

" ....will be made as soon as administratively practical following the
execution of this agreement by you, but not later than March 15 of the calendar year
following the execution of this Agreement"

@OP I just got my special payment today, 3/24/26. Assuming Friday the 27th will be final check and PTO & vacation - at least I am hoping. Then we wait for severence...

@OP PTO and pay thru 3/17 in one pay stub on 3/14 and then special payout on 3/21. Now it is just severance.

@bn - Not sure why there should be a delay, I have been through this with prior banks that are larger than Citi, and they definitely have their acts together. There should be no delay, it's not like Citi made this a last-minute decision, this has been in the works for months. This should be a priority!!!

@150 OP here, that was my thought as well. They have until March 15 of 2027. Thanks for confirming.

@OP Just FYI - the language in the severance agreement doesn’t actually guarantee payment by March 15 of this year. It says the payment will be made “as soon as administratively practical following execution of the agreement, but not later than March 15 of the calendar year following the execution of the agreement.”

“Calendar year” just means Jan–Dec, so technically they have until March 15 of next year to issue the payment. Hopefully it comes sooner, but the wording doesn’t require it to be paid within the next few days.

@ap was told in my 1/14 conversation that I would get a special payout in lieu of bonus. I believe that should come with or shortly after last paycheck.

I was mailed a bunch of surplus global community day t-shirts in various sizes and also a box of cards with the old interstate font outlining the three pillars - Taking Ownership, Delivering with Pride, and Succeeding Together.

I have to conclude that these great items are in lieu of severance. I will send a catch up invite to my HR Rep.

@b2 That is part of my severance package. I will receive that before 3/15/2026. The actual severance will be after the separation date.

Not yet, but folks who went in prior rounds said severance payout took almost 2 months post term date. Vacation and special payout should be by end of March or April depending upon term date.

@OP No, I have not gotten anything yet. I believe the PTO and special payment will come with the final check - at least I hope. I heard the severance check may come 2-3 pay periods later. Not sure why the delay, other than the massive amount of work they have to process… here’s hoping the ball gets back in our court soon and doesn’t bounce... ;-)

@ac one continues to accrue PTO, even during non-working notice.

For the January wave, did they give you your bonus since us or what it also held until after your notice period ends.

@OP It should be received probably by April 2 to 3 pay cycles from last day with company.

@OP Moreso, how do they handle carryover days if you get notified in March and haven't used them all? i guess same applies for notification in january. from what i hear you stop working immediately when notified, so not sure how any of this works anyways.
