And now the retirements begin.
@1f35 the financial statements, including annual report from 2024:

@11s5 where did that document come from?
I was made redundant, but my manager didn't join the call. To my surprise, the Group MD (Banking Marketing) joined with a terrible signal. As it turned out, he was joining from his car—literally no respect at all.
@1410 They are really inhumane. While we work at the company, they say all good and beautiful things to us to emphasize their company is good place to work. We had one on one meetings with our manager every week. Once they decide to fire/lay off employees, they do maximum effort to eliminate these people, protect the company and justify themselves. We can’t contact our superiors anymore to discuss. We have very bad experience. There are much better companies to work with.
I was laid off last week from MA. I was a data scientist working in insurance risk. It felt like they were firing me but they said it was company wide layoffs. I thought they were unnecessarily inhumane about it.
MA more MDs in product laid off today
On December 19, 2024, the CEO of Moody's approved the Strategic and Operational Efficiency Restructuring Program. The Company estimates that upon completion, the program will result in annualized savings of $250 million to $300 million. This program relates to the Company's strategy to realign its operations toward high priority growth areas and to consolidate certain functions to simplify the organization to enable improved operating efficiency and leverage. This program will primarily include a reduction in staff, the rationalization and exit of certain leased office spaces and the retirement of certain legacy software applications. The program includes $170 million to $200 million of expected pre-tax personnel-related restructuring charges, an amount that includes severance costs, expense related to the modification of equity awards and other related costs primarily determined under the Company's existing severance plans. In addition, the program is expected to result in $10 million to $20 million of non-cash charges from the exit from certain leased office spaces and $20 million to $30 million of non-cash charges related to incremental amortization of internally developed software due to a reduction in the useful life of the software assets. The savings generated from the Strategic and Operational Efficiency Restructuring Program are expected to strengthen the Company's operating margin, with a portion being deployed to support strategic investments. The Strategic and Operational Efficiency Restructuring Program is expected to be substantially complete by the end of 2026. Cash outlays associated with this program are expected to be $170 million to $200 million, which are expected to be paid through 2027. - Moody’s Quarterly Report - Q1 2025.
Layoffs are being spread out due the cost of severance packages (33 million in Q1), it’s not finished yet. Legacy teams and those tied to retiring platforms are being reallocated or quietly phased out. If your role is linked to old systems, keep your resume updated.
Glad to see MA/MIS haven’t changed since they started axing people in 2020 during the start of the pandemic all while making grandiose statements about commitment to employee well being. /s
The best thing you can do for your career is to get your severance (if laid off) and go. If not laid off, work on your resume and try to limit your exposure to this deeply flawed company.
Off-shoring to India.
I couldn’t get a bonus.
Laid off February 2025? No bonus payout?
12 md’s? Or announced “retirement “
The MA US side is trash. Laid off 100-200 people this year. Already advertising "new roles" to con people to join a sinking ship. Forcing 8% client renewals to tell investors they had 8% revenue growth. They should fire a ton of managers. What a bunch of dishonest, terrible people.
Hope they cut the trash leadership in Banking unit …
I and several coworkers in MA (US) were terminated from Moody's 2.20.25 without notice, even though we were assured repeatedly that our positions were safe for another year, after which time we would consolidate with another department. Quite a change from two years ago, when Moody's went over the top to portray itself as ultra-woke and nurturing. If your manager at Moody's tells you they just don't know what's going on, rest assured they are lying. Quite a change from a couple of years ago when Moody's was begging for applicants. Yes it's very true that workforce reductions have just begun at Moody's, so jump ship before they shove you off. Moral: Never trust anyone at Moody's.
