Redeployment at Citi -- RIFfed in 2026

Has anyone had any sort of luck using the Talent Redeployment program / link as contained in the HR notice relating to Employee Separation ?

@11e

Its getting harder after each layoff round to find a new internal job and get rehired because Citi has a Hiring Freeze since at least 2025 if not earlier.

There are simply fewer and fewer job postings on Citi's Career Website for all locations.

Even in Citi's global HQ at 388 Greenwich Street New York City, if you filter your search only by location, NY, 80% to 90% of the job postings are for sales commission-based jobs in USCC/USPB/Wealth.

Think. If it's slim pickings at the global HQ, how much worse at the smaller corporate offices?

If you don't sell products, you don't eat. And if you're not meeting your sales goals as determined by your manager or department, you're on the chopping block.

Who generally applies for these jobs? Career Private Bankers, Financial Advisors/Stockbrokers, etc. who usually already have a book of existing clients and are mandated to increase their client base and AUM to remain employed.

You lose your severance. Why would you do that? You have garden leave, then a severance. If you get a job in that Garden leave period - they pay you the rest of Garden Leave AND then pay you the severance. Citi basically gave me a huge bonus to get a higher paying job at a better company....

There was one girl on my team that got laid off back in October and she was able to land a position in a different team just a few weeks later.
Though I've also spoken to a few people who were hit in the layoffs early this year and none of them have found anything at citi since then, so it's likely possible but getting harder and harder after each round.

After being RIF'ed by Citi why on God's Green Earth would anyone want to go back other than because they suffer from Stockholm Syndrome?
