Still Sept/October after VMA's or merger + 90 days? Or both?

@cj Everything should go. He shouldn't even bother selling them off. Just get rid of all divisions, starting with the CBS news brand and MTV.
as we expected, big immediate changes at the top this week. Will more cuts also hit the rest of us right when merger officially closes this week? Hasn’t anyone had dinner with their friend in HR? Give us the gossip!
@11q Those dates align with the June layoffs.
The warn site that someone put below has layoff date of 8/9 for LA that’s 2 days after the close of the merger. Some of the NY dates say layoff date 9/8… the day after the VMAs. Sounds about right . Does anyone have any intel?
@11c the LA warn notice site has 8/9 listed as the effective date for paramount global but it lists something like 48 people for Gower and 61 I think for the lot? I don’t think those dates or numbers can be trusted.
i think ... the september warn date has the notice date of the june 10 layoffs
90 day NY and 60 day CA
i dont think these are new - hoping anyway
September!

Heard Jeff Shell was in our NY offices today? Anyone know what that was about?
SD job listing for our new company ...
21 dollars an hour ..
@h3 sounds like you're one of the toxics ... No one said the layoffs had a "rhyme or reason"... It would just be sweet if the ones who caused issues for people that want a safe & positive environment are axed, including you😉
@e9 CMO streaming probably stays for now. Marketing is a mess all over the company and will have to be addressed.
Hoping they get rid of Toxic people??? OMG good luck with that Pollyanna - take your head out of the sand - layoffs have never made any rhyme or reason
anyone sit in on any meetings re steaming marketing and holland i ask bc i know in other divisions people met with Bain and or SD people - if TR is basically gone - is the CMO remaining Are the other CMO remaining since work is shared now..
@ds I think BET is the only one they'll sell; the rest they'll just leave with a lackluster slate of reruns and marathons until the last affiliate contract runs out, at which point they will no longer be channels, just logos that Skydance can use to make it appear that they have a robust suite of creatives who are actually dedicated to those brands. And they'll license them out for other use, first and foremost to do nostalgia t-shirts, jammies, etc. But no new original programming, no development team, no actual employees, just some vague identity of "that one's about comedy" or "that one's about music" or "that one's about classic sitcoms."
@ds they will be sold. They are dying a slow death.
@d9 Tom has been out just not official. Google Cindy Holland. She has a lot of streaming experience and she is the person.
@d9 what do you think will happen with the legacy cable nets?
October
Seems like Papa Ellison and Junior trust Shell to completely remake the company in the image of his previous endeavors, and that usually means that the person in charge is going to replace pretty much every corporate department head with someone they've worked with before. A few speculations:
- Phillips will take her millions in golden parachute dough and there'll be a wholesale overhaul of whatever they end up calling human resources.
J. Dini's probably a goner along with most of his direct reports, because Jeff will want heads of spox, creative services, board relations, and events who don't have any of the stink from the beforetimes.
T. Ryan will be out, and some lackey from Skydance with no actual streaming experience will take over his terrain.
After B. Robbins takes a hike, pretty much the entire Nick animation team will be sent packing and Ellison's team will take over.
All that remains of BET will be hollowed out before it's sold, and they'll combine all of the remaining legacy cable channels into one miniscule brand management team who basically just slap those brands onto any Skydance property that might fit what we still see as fitting with their legacy demos.
But all of that will still come nowhere near the savings that they say they'll enact upon takeover, so everything is on the table EXCEPT for Ellison the Younger using every resource available to bolster his reputation as a Hollywood hotshot and future legend.
CBS News is good excuse for Skydance to dismantle every division
@bt yes remember the merger was supposed to happen in March so planning was done early this year. We won’t know when the next round is until the deal actually closes. This is just FCC approval.
@br Really back in February 😧😧😧😧. When will the layoffs happen?
@af the positions to eliminate were decided back in February but I am sure will be refreshed. Good luck everyone. It’s going to be a blood bath.
Hopefully some of toxic people will finally get let go and no with have to suffer under them anymore.
Just in time for the holidays…
if it's three months from close - i would imagine the names are in or close to in - anyone hear the numbers on the new layoffs -
i know a previous poster said bigger than the rest combined - that would be thousands ??
+90 days from close. This is just FCC approval and not close.
