UNUM is having the Individual Disability Billing Staff train what Unum is calling "EXL partners." EXL home office is based in NY. EXL is owned by Rohit Kapoor and Vikram Talwar. The employees of EXL are in India. UNUM is saying that none of the US based IDI Billing Staff will lose their jobs. Is Unum being honest or are they making employees train the very people that would replace them? UNUM doesn't want the public to know just how much they outsource. They "subcontract" through EXL/India so they can say they don't outsource that they pay EXL. They pay EXL to outsource for them. Rick Mckenney makes just under 20 mill per year but is running UNUM into the ground. They are selling a lot talking big companies like Amazon into allowing them to be their disability provider which looks like growth in the US but it's not it's growth of India's economy. UNUM no longer cares that employees know what they are doing. Little to no training for the call center or the Indian employees.
UNUM's practices should be examined and another 60 Minutes investigation to show America just how little Unum cares about the US economy, their customers and employees. Put the spotlight on how they are operating. Poor choices for CEO since Bob Best left and department by department is going to India. Benefits Intake calls are answered in the Philippines. IT is in India. Accounting is in India. HR/Payroll is in India. Finance is largely in India.

Had a call today after I filled in my forms and sent them back They just want to harass now with somebody that can barely speak English
@10pf Loved Jim Orr III. When UNUM merged with Provident, that was the beginning of the proverbial end. Ever since, we had to deal with the hicks down in Nooga.

I work for another company that uses EXL... they have been gradually giving more divisions jobs out to EXL... I would recommend you have the unemployment office info at the ready because nothing can be certain. Get that resume ready too, just in case you get laid off.
If you have a disability claim, do you talk to a USA person? EXL? Are those jobs being sent to offshore EXL people?
