Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Mid Year

Ok so business is horrendous. Anyone out there have any real knowledge of mid-year cuts/layoffs or even division mergers?

We lost a manager at our store and they won’t be replacing them

@t5 I closed in DTLA and let’s just say our store manager was trash! Yes, Henry Aguirre! You were!!!!! He avoided us like the plague. The lower managers have no say really but to ride it out. I wish you the best and unless severance is worth it, stay. If not abandon ship!

@se OMG don’t do the culture pulse survey. Your store manager will ask you why you put what you put. They don’t want to change or grow the business they are just worried about what their boss is gonna say when they find out they are fu--ing fake a-s liars. Our STM did this to each manager in our store and was so mad. She took it out on us for the longest time.

I work in a no go forward store. My Manager has been acting weird and irratable lately, not her normal positive self. Anytime I ask about us closing she changes the subject and won't make eye contact. Buckle up, they know something, sad they rather let us wait in misery than give us a fair warning. Typical!

Wouldn’t a culture pulse survey be interesting about now? Anyone feeling unsupported and unheard?? Overworked and unappreciated?? My store is losing people to retirement, health issues—some work related, and frustration. No positions are being refilled. We’ve lost three merchandisers, three fulfillment associates, two receiving associates and we’ve had a revolving door of sales associates. Mostly teenagers and 20 something’s who have zero work ethic. We have 10 sales associates 64 or older. 2 are in their 80s working full time. At some point probably soon we will have so many people retiring we won’t be able to open the store. We are
supposedly a ‘go forward’ store . We’ve had some big improvements done the last year or so but only for the building. Nothing for the people. Expectations haven’t changed. We still have the same workload but now we never finish anything. Always flying by the seat of our pants to make any progress. Sound familiar ??

What’s a COA?

they want to get rid of OOM's or if you were a COA and had a level 6 store, then the OOM would take the spot of the COA, other than that any ETA with an STD will be hired.

Zero actual knowledge but I do know that if there is something coming, it wont be announced until after inventory like usual. Like to use us one more time before kicking us to the curb!
