New job offer in hand - what would you do?

I just got a comparable senior level job offer at a different company that will require relocation to a new city with a substantially higher cost of living and with fewer benefits. I’m in a team at Nike that might not see much change or firing this... — read more

Nike Phone

Will I be allowed to retain my cellphone number (Nike’s connection) , or should I transfer it to my personal account immediately?

Nike is a game show

I’ve worked at several large companies, but Nike is at a whole another level. I wish I never took this job. I thought I had it bad before, but this is gross. I can’t do my job without constantly watching my back on who will attack me or take credit... — read more

What was the last severance policy like for Nike??

Does everyone who gets laid off get 60 days paid leave? And then 1 month for every year of service? And What about unused PTO and unvested RSUs? Does my unvested RSUs will became vested? Good luck to everyone! Tough times!

Job market

There's some talk in several threads about the job market being rough right now. Is this true? Can those who were laid off or those who are looking in general please let us know what the situation is like? When I search for open positions, I get a... — read more

Tech leaders

They all su-k except Deepak, who I know little about. The rest? Fu--ing awful and not trustworthy at all. Backstabbing and insecure. Muge? I have no idea. Give her a chance. I know the last CIOs and CDIO since 2013 have been corrupt except for Jim... — read more

What you really need to know during a layoff

No sabbatical payouts

Take your earned sabbaticals now! And your manager can’t tell you otherwise. Use it or lose it, you will not get paid out for the time if laid off. Please do yourself this mental health favor. You deserve it for all the BS you’ve endured over a... — read more

How Does It Go Down? Tips?

Is it really a 15 minute meeting invite? Who does it come from, is it Manager/HR? In person or over Zoom? How far in advance? I just want to know what should raise my heart rate when it hits my inbox. Anything you wish you would have known that you... — read more

Stop the FUD, worry about what you can control

Reposting this comment as this forum is filled with more and more trolls: I mean this kindly, but anyone who feels this level of emotional impact from a corporation needs therapy. It is not healthy to have your wellbeing and self worth be tied to a... — read more

For all Nike cares about perception and storytelling

It sure is tactless to post your promotions when your colleagues are being laid off. Must feel nice to see those with less experience and moving up quickly while peers who are older with more depth of knowledge are getting the ax. Some of these... — read more

I admit that I have a lot of anger against Nike

I’d love to see them fall, because of the pain I’ve been through and sadly will the rest of my life. They don’t care. No corporation cares. The CEOs definitely don’t care. This is the world today. Accept it.

I am not looking forward to layoffs

I know it's popular to say these days that layoffs are a blessing and similar cr-p because Nike is bad and whatnot, but I can't. I like my job. That's why I spend so much time here. I enjoy what I do and I want to keep doing it. I wish all the people... — read more

If you can work remote, why are you claiming a JR desk?

Some of us are required to be on campus, so we gravitate to favorite desks. If you are not required to be in the office because you are still remote pilot, then go away. It's so rude! Thanks for the kick in the teeth, selfish one.

RTO on Monday

So how are we all handling this? Show up, swipe your badge, grab a coffee and leave? That's my team's plan. Such a great use of time and money, thanks JD!!!

Severance

If Nike provided better severance, especially to those of us who've been here for over a decade, I'd have no issues with being laid off. Actually, I would most likely volunteer in that case and I bet a lot of others would also use that as an... — read more

Why can't we have one major round?

From everything I've been hearing and reading, this whole thing will stretch out over several weeks with fragmented layoffs happening continuously. In my opinion, this will only serve to further ki-l morale which is already at an all-time low. With a... — read more

Should I be worried?

I just bought a new Tesla and Sea doo switch boat. What should I do if I get canned? I’m worried I’ll get divorced also and have to pay for child support. Can anyone that’s been in my spot advice? I just started at Nike this summer and thought I... — read more

Volunteer for early retirement/severance package

I’ve worked at companies in the past that would allow people to volunteer to retire early or pay out severance in exchange for their resignation. Any idea if this is a thing at Nike?

Question for those who have been laid off before…

Assuming that I might be laid off, what are some things I should look to get done over the next month if not weeks, what are the things you regret not doing before you left and what are the things I might as well stop doing. Thanks

Has it started?

Were the “redeployments” and rolling layoffs in Q1 and Q2 part of this upcoming reorg or is this the start of something new?

I'm ready

I won't be happy if I'm laid off but I won't be heartbroken either. I've prepared the best I can and if it comes to pass, I know what my next steps will be. I refuse to continue stressing over something I can't affect in any other way. In any case... — read more
