BNSF has shown that it is getting rid of every union job, IMF facilities ran by short lines, shop closure’s everywhere, RJ Corman and wabtec doing maintenance and taking over locations, and doing so by hiring BNSF workers that were at those locations. Similar to omnitrax. Untrained laborers performing inspections under the guise of they think they will be cut next unless they do what they weren’t hired to do. BNSF removing any unit from service that does not utilize Talos or Trip Optimizer, to run trains remotely. The CFO and CEO threatened the FRA directly with a lawsuit if they didn’t go a long with getting rid of people in favor of replacing union workers with contractors, and running units remotely. The FRA caved under financially burdensome lawsuit, regardless if it was frivolous and they could win in court. There’s no recourse except for walking out now, crash the system bc the contractors aren’t organized enough to take over the entire system at this point. It’s sad it’s come to this, but workers can be slowly walked out in portions and have no control, or walk out together and show BNSF the consequences of doing workers the way they are, and if railroad files a lawsuit against the union, who cares because the union leadership has been allowing this corruption to go on for years, and union officers have enjoyed the isolation of not being subject to the same treatment that their members have endured. So I support walking out/sicking out on Wednesday, you get your paycheck, and BNSF corporate can bask in a full 24 hours of loss because of their actions. I’m sure old heads and officers will say just come to work and do your job, but the truth is, that’s the last thing BNSF wants you to do, which is why there are more than 5000 workers furloughed and counting. It’s why BNSF has the audacity to threaten the FRA with a lawsuit for attempting to make them abide by the rules, and why every union officer will be the first to tell you the railroad is going to do what the railroad is going to do. Let Wednesday be a statement that enough is enough, let K.F. Enjoy the monster she created, let the company enjoy the benefits of hurting workers and all the whataboutisms that they will say are the reasons for record profits at the expense of workers. Let the bell of freedom ring, that the American workers back the railroad has been supported by is not something to be taken for granted based on the threat of a court order or a congressional board that was bought to quell the voices of workers. Its time for our voices to be heard, bring it to a stop, every worker needs to show that the railroad enjoys the benefits of record profits because of what we provide. #wow movement, be the solution, not a continuation of the problem
