Well it is revant to layoffs as expats in BTC make more than 20 times the money locals make. Which is not wrong but the value add needs to be justified. From past posts we have learnt that these expat managers and supervisors and advisors have brought ‘Houston culture’ to BTC, which is just sycophancy, narrow mindedness about being the best in the world ( laughable at the moment) and promoting fear among employees for using amex and not holding hand rails. Ask them about what business value have they added and they will get back to their URC behaviors of squirming and crying for their managers.
And thus our low cost centers also will suffer for no fault of their own. What could have been an opportunity has been ruined like any other ExxonMobil project dur to poor leadership. Low salaries for locals, lying about hiring the best and brightest, unecessary business ‘visits’, over hiring and packing the place with no meaningful work.
