Are they targeting the 30-35 year people? Any word on retirement incentives for these people?

It's happening on Monday in IT

LL4 will be making the calls. No question that it will be on Monday. If you have a gut feeling it will be you, it will probably be you.

This is taking too long

How long do they plan on keeping us guessing? This is taking much longer than I expected and it's stressing me out. I can't afford to lose my job right now and having that prospect hanging over my head all the time is affecting my mental health. Why... — read more

Meetings this week to discuss return to office

Management wants us all back in the office. They tore our buildings apart and threw out all our office supplies. All the employees came in and took their chairs and monitors. It will be next year before it all gets sorted out. In all this... — read more

Why the misinformation?

It's one thing to make an educated guess as to what's happening and another thing entirely to post things that you know aren't true. If trolling a layoff board is your idea of fun, it's time to move out of your mom's basement.

How long did it take you to find a new job?

I've been trying for a little longer than three months without any success and it makes me very frustrated. If the situation on the job market continues to get worse, it will not be good at all.

The best people are leaving

Uncertainty and the general atmosphere only accelerated the departure of some of the best employees. This is what best describes the culture as it is now at Ford. What's worse, managers don't seem to care. How many of your colleagues have left... — read more

Just checked the calendars of a few supervisors and managers. All them have many half hour private meetings this week starting from August 17 to August 19. I guess that the layoffs are already underway. It may not happen all at once. Supervisors... — read more

Will you take any time off if you're laid off?

Most of my coworkers are already trying to find alternatives they could jump to immediately if they're laid off but all I can think about is taking at least a month off to relax and de-stress. Working here has been taxing on my health and I would... — read more

Not a chance they offer voluntary buyouts

The whole point of layoffs is to get rid of specific people (often older folks who make more money). They know a lot of people want to leave and voluntary buyouts would end up in a whole bunch of people they want to keep walking away. They will not... — read more

Tight deadlines don't work

It is fascinating how the management expects us to meet their ever increasing deadline expectations in such a tense, fear-based atmosphere. Everything has become more urgent than ever. It just doesn't work. It wouldn't surprise me if all this... — read more

Quality is not fixed by paying for customer repairs

I think Ford lost sight that hard work and smart engineering would fix quality. They were too focused on the new campus and train station and what kind of grass and shrubs to plant. Quality is not fixed by paying for customer repairs. The feedback... — read more

Negative effects of downsizing?

I'm trying to imagine what Ford will look like after these layoffs. What do you think? I survived the 2019 layoffs even though I thought I would definitely be cut. I would say that after every round of layoffs it gets worse here.

Ultimate disrespect

I take that as the ultimate disrespect. Leaving so many employees in limbo to be thinking about layoffs every day, listening to rumors and worrying about when they will have a job, is also inhumane. Why so little transparency? It seems to me that... — read more
