But they have made “substantial progress” towards closing. This is a highly paid group of seasoned professionals with vast industry contacts and knowledge. Certainly they should have no problem wrapping things up on the NEXT closing date.

Yet another failure to meet expectations. Time to put the executive team on a performance improvement plan. They obviously didn't make the required number of calls every day.
They do have a deadline of Feb 5th. Just cause they can meet a projection they still have time.
They've been working tirelessly! "But guys...it's reeeaaalllllyyy hard!"
They only missed two closing dates. Could happen to anyone.
They are all amateurs. Makes you wonder? It should.
But these things are complicated.
They are getting pretty good at writing up these 8Ks
