Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

The end of an era

To any employees that are going through all of this I am truly sorry, you are witnessing the end of Staples retail, the retail division is failing and online business is all that is keeping the company above water, they don't care what employees lose their jobs in the process even though they have many other methods of cost cutting that could be far more effective, good luck to you all and I hope that you are able to find a company that cares about its employees.

In the last couple of weeks one district manager, and at least two or three gm's quit here in CT, Do more, less staff, or else --->. How much can you really push someone before trust breaks down?

I just got laid off yesterday! I've been with Staples for almost two years and the reasoning behind all the lay offs just sounds like a way to save an extra buck. I have a kid to raise and school to pay for. My severance packet says I have 45 days to decode, but I was given only two weeks for my termination date...our store is alreasy screwed with all the associates quitting. Lost both our AM and GM :/

Well with all those big bonuses "they" keep getting from our hard work you'd think the fat man would go out and buy a new red shirt to wear to work everyday rather than keep wearing the same old faded red one we keep seeing. But wait, I thought blue was the color shirt they wore so we could distinguish the real workers from the idiots? Keeps filling our trucks and see what we bring back cause you really don't care about our customers!

This is 57019 and i do work with you 57293 at the Tampa sdo. Just sick of them cutting routes daily and us surrounding the routes have to cover the area. Then you have people who can't finish the route with less than 40 stops bringing stops back. Then the next day give the same driver 55 stops knowing they can't finish as the driver is slow. Can't do another ride along with the supervisor as it is a joke and nothing gets done. No wonder we keep losing drivers. The morale is bad!!

You must be referring to the Tampa SDO 57019? If not, you should be because this location with its fat ass manager and idiot supervisor sucks! Can you feel our anger?

THAT WAS EASY...closing sdo's!

MAKE MORE HAPPEN...close all sdo's!

This is a stressful time at our location and nobody gives a shit. No help from our useless Supervisor and Manager. Remember karma? Hopes it returns and bites you in the ass.

Wonder if Staples will be running a Super Bowl commercial this year? Great way to spend $4.5 million instead of closing sdo's....jackasses!

Need to start consolidating DM ,RVP and SVP positions. Eliminate 1/3 of each and give the remainder more stores.

Also, get rid of either Demos, Otis or Mike DeSantos. Save a million and a half right there with no difference felt as all 3 are redundant.
