I have raised my hand and asked to be considered for the next Mgr lay off ..I can't stand by and watch/witness this... I have seen a lot. .15 years....it's sad...but my ticket out of a company who is self distructive. Time for me to go..just wanted to go with dignity. And on my terms. ..not waiting for my turn....I made the decision best for me!!!

P.t. sup has been let go....what a shame.... good people who know the business....who accually cares about the company!!!

Sad to see good hard working people go..what a dissapointment....it's just sad to see a strong company make these bad decisions and keep the free loaders.

Yes, interviews will have to be conducted for the AM position. Our FT TS has to go up against other people that work outside the company set up for interviews. Best of luck to everyone.

The manager training program is (was) a complete joke. I know about 10 people that were led around by that carrot for months with no results. They just got lame excuse after lame excuse as to why they were not being trained.

Wondering if they will be required to allow associates to apply for the new AM position, instead of just giving it to FT TS!

If all of this turns out to be correct then this is just an awful way for a company to handle its people, many team supervisors were recently accepted into an training program for assistant manager development which from what I understand turned out to be a big joke, the program went nowhere after a few months and there was no word from anyone on what happened to the program, these team supervisors were promised the opportunity to be trained and developed into an assistant manager role and now they are being laid off just months after the program rolled out with none of the promised training and development. I'm sure staples can expect many lawsuits from this round of layoffs as I hear employees are already consulting attorneys to go over any options that they may have in such a situation, even if there are no lawsuits long term employees will be leaving faster than they can rehire them because they now know that staples will screw them over as the company continues to fail.

For Tier 4 stores there will no longer be a SSM, only an operations manager (called AM (Assistant Manager). Both team supervisor positions are done for.

They just can not decide who should be in charge of CPC.

If they staffed it right (quantity and quality) it would not be such a nightmare. Instead they give it bare minimum payroll and try train people off the street for it rather than recruit experienced people.

So, if a store becomes a tier 4 will they lose the SSM and gain an ops manager or will they have both?
