Do you know what operating groups might be affected by layoffs in 2015? I hear that Financial Services is having some issues (this is on the consulting side) but wanted to see if anyone has more detail to share here.

I heard over 150+ laid off from their Strategy business unit during March - April 2015 time frame. If you were cross vertical, you were chopped, since no one BU owned you. Unfortunate orphans.
Accenture is truly an epitome of "professional back stabbing" and a very feedback poor / malevolent organization. If you are a new Senior Manager, you will be soon swallowed up by internal comments against you from your smiling, superficially friendly peers or other MDs, who will write things about you that you will never ever get a chance to see or rebut. The company is great but there internal disease eating up the organization and reducing their competitiveness. All we can say is "watch out" because you are never given a chance to defend yourself nor given an opportunity for improvement. You may feel like a valuable employee, but it fades too fast - without your knowledge.
I hear that 2015 layoffs are happening right now, can someone confirm?
Accenture, the house of institutionalized backstabbing.
Many financial services companies are buying less consulting nowdays, not sure what's happening but that's the trend
Both Upstream and Downstream oil is in shambles, Downstream is doing a bit better though so we should be OK there and should continue selling more work. But if you have any connection to Upstream companies or if you working with Oil Services companies (e.g., Baker, SLB, HAL, etc.) you might be in trouble - we'll see what happens.
I am confirming this, if you are in Resources you might have problems this year. Hopeful you can get staffed on projects outside of Resources
No layoffs, at all. Doing well and always lagging. If you are in Resources OG you should be concerned as Energy firms will stop buying consulting for a while.
January 2015 - any layoffs right now?
Why Financial Services? The industry is in a upswing mode right now and has a bit of maneuvering space when it comes to growth
