Does anyone know what a typical severance package will be? Also, does it vary between levels and depending on seniority?

It was basically 6 weeks and then 2 weeks per every year of service paid out in a lump sum (takes a 25% Federal Income tax hit though). Then they pay us normally to 2/20 so 3 weeks of normal pay. Finally unused PTO is paid out in FL at 50%.
In terms of severance, I heard it was 2 weeks salary for every year of employment, not one month. And I spoke to someone who was laid off in 2009 (and returned in 2010) and he said it was the same then - 2 weeks for each year. That's not a lot of cushion to get another position for some.
Anonymous64143, very sorry about how your spouse was treated. That's wrong. I was one of the first let go in my building in Fort Lauderdale and I was offered time to gather my things. I got to say goodbye to the few teammates who were around at that point. For me, the process was handled as well as I could have asked for.
Anonymous64143, thank you so much for posting. Very sorry to hear about your spouse and the way the whole thing is being handled. sad.
Sorry to hear about your spouse. I was laid off too but my experience wasn't as bad. Everyone was quite respectful. It happened for me in the evening and I had enough time to say goodbye to my teammates and collect any necessary documents
Best of luck to you and your spouse. Thank you for letting us know this information.
My spouse was just let go. Worked for citrix less than a year. Being paid thru 2/20. Just under 2 months severance after that, plus all the B.S. resume and job placement support. Was escorted out of building by security and they tried not let say goodbye to her staff. A peer was also laid off, and they were not allowed to talk to each other while in the building.
I've worked at large companies all my career and have never seen a layoff handled this way. I truly feel for all citrix employees who are sufferring through this mess. Good luck to all of you.
Please post your country when posting severance details
last time it was 1 month plus 1 month for each year served they kept you on the payroll for 2 weeks.
This is for US only, it varies from country to country.
I think it's capped at 6 months, so you get 2 weeks per year and 6 months is a max. T
I've done a bit of math here - they said 700 employees will be cut (plus 200 contractors). Contractors do not get anything. They also said they will take a 45 million charge off for layoffs, so: 45,000,000/700 = 64,285... So, it's roughly 64K per head. Now, this does not account for geographical/wage factors as India will be affected as well.
I believe it is 2 weeks per year of service, it might be higher depending on level
Thank you in advance!
