Since mid 2000s we cut more than 50,000 positions, we at Pfizer are a job killing machine. The jobs were well paid, middle class, jobs… That’s what you get with all mergers and acquisitions, Pfizer has done a lot of damage to many families. Pharma jobs used to be desirable for new graduates, now hardly any kids want a career here as they know it’ll be bloody and pink slips will be flying every year. This is not an issue with Pfizer only, all big companies have the same problem, it’s a little bit better in mid to small size companies though. Look, since 2010 the industry lost 150,000 jobs here in the States, how crazy is that, that’s a good size city. UK is even worse, the whole market in Europe is bad for decades now. So 20, 30% cuts in research are good? How come? Can someone explain this? How is 2015 going to be, are we going to have layoffs? For sure, nobody doubts that, we are used to it.
