Thread regarding Corinthian Colleges Inc. layoffs

Regarding contacting the press and the recent upswing in news articles

Now is the time to let the media know what's going on. They are just starting to pick up on the fact that this deal doesn't smell right and they want more info. Most of the news articles that have come out are based on anonymous inside sources, and that's what we are. Maybe we can steer this ship in a better direction, but it's going to take a critical mass of us willing to do the right thing. We need to make it clear to the public that if ANY CCI mgmt stay on at Zenith, it is simply a rebranding and the illegal activity will continue. We need to let them know that we've seen pressures to make numbers (recruit, retain, get aid dollars, place) and that those dollar numbers are the primary criteria for promoting, demoting, and firing. If they have sources from around the country all having experienced the same crap, that will clearly show that this is a company-wide problem. It doesn't take a genius to see that the fact that Hawn has been meeting with CCI since long before this all came to light and that CCI management are staying on at "Zenith" is not only connected, but proof that this "deal" is just a massive fraud against the public. let's use this thread to share contact info for reporters (print, web, tv, radio) that have shown interest in this area in the past. They are probably still following the story and collecting info. It will be fun to see the management come on and try to distract us. What will they resort to? Are we all "bitter" about something? Are they going to call us "hood rats"? Who cares? Let them sweat.

If any of you contact the press then don't be surprised when you're terminated. You will have proven yourself to be an angry, bitter little person who adds no value to our operations. You will have proven yourself to be of no use to your superiors and it will show. And we will know. And you will be gone. Bye, bye, don't forget the big smile when you're serving us at BK. Pathetic losers!

61161: Yes, "business as usual" has been the matra over at EUO as well. When dozens of states, members of Congress and the U.S. Department of Education are all trying to shut you down, it seems like you could come up with a better motto than "business as usual." How about "A Fresh Start and a New Attitude!", or would that frighten the be-jesus out of all the managers?

I've got to admit I've been really tempted to contact officials and the press before but didn't for the simple reason that I need my job (single Mom). But it looks like this deal is going through and we might have some new executive management that aren't as corrupt as Corinthian's. If Zenith is going to be a shiny new day for us, we're gonna have to make it shiny and new through lots of elbow grease. I'll be sending my comments on placement off to some press and stuff. Hope I'm not the only one.

Anonymous61160: I think the whole point of this is that nobody is going to go to you. Nobody outside the company knows who you are, and the new ECMC folks are under instructions to ask no questions that might lead to them knowing about something illegal/unethical. You're going to have to go to the trouble of writing out what you've witnessed and sending it to people who will get the information out. If you're worried about your privacy, try this: https://securemail.hidemyass.com/. There are other reliable free sites available to email anonymously if you don't have an anonymous email address already (i.e. one that doesn't have your name in it). I hopw you decide to help! I really want Zenith to be better than Everest, but it looks like that's not going to happen unless some outside force (the public, members of Congress, AGs, Department of Ed) MAKE them do better. The more of us that spill the beans, the better the result. At Socle, NONE of the management is being replaced. We have also been assured that after the transition it will be "business as usual." I think that will be veeerrrryyyy interesting to a reporter, especially after I detail what "business as usual" has meant at Socle the three years I've been here.
