1035 and 1022 I was an IT employee that supported Socle. None of us were actually Socle. Although we weren't exempt from the 10% pay cut and I don't believe 989 was saying that. Some of us were exempt from the furlough or 50 pct pay cut even though we didn't actually work for Socle, we supported it. They did pour a lot of money into Socle. And while the company was making cuts across the board. It didn't seem like Socle's efforts were slowing down. They kept saying we would get new clients and there was money spent on traveling and on boarding and yes and development costs we did obtain new clients and yes the first few clients were payed next to nothing for the product. The heads of Socle are not at CSC they are in Tampa Florida. But for the most part 6035 is absolutely correct. There were Socle and Socle support employees that were told not to tell anyone that they were exempt from the furlough. I was one of them.
I am a Socle employee and I was furloughed.
I was Socle IT and my pay was cut 10%. I was deemed essential so I didn't get furloughed by I know of Socle IT who did. I can only speak for the client facing portion of Socle and we were finally getting momentum in sales when the rug was pulled.

Don't forget people the Socle department we are referring to is Socle Education Where they were trying to sell the student and client portal to other schools. That is the only reason the look and feel of the student and client portal had a complete visual overhaul. We are not talking about the people processing the students. We are talking about the people at CSC. The head of sfs and the people underneath them that traveled all over and spent money selling Socle. Thats who we are talking about. The cost to pay contractors to develop the product. The business analysts who traveled to gather requirements from clients. Marketing cost for Socle to attend trade shows to sell to other schools. The fact that you had to practically pay to get your first few clients. That's what we are talking about. Now name one thing I just said that's unfounded.

802 yes that's exactly what I am saying. Why? Because all over this page and the company you guys were bragging about how Socle was going to save the company or become a new entity. Like your $hit don't stink. And yes CCI pumped a lot of money to start that bullcrap up, and now it's a big waste. The funding for Socle sucked a lot of money out of the company and yes that is why at times they couldn't make payroll. They had to pull the plug on the few little colleges they did seem to sucker. Left them high and dry. You see Karma is a you know what. So all of you Socle Education folks go sit down somewhere and be a little more humble. And all of the Execs that thought this little plan was the mastermind that would be 6Ou golden parachute when CCI went under, the jokes on you Masshole (mispelling intentional). 60615: I have to agree about the centralized model. As regional SF, my number one headache was trying to deal with Global FAS on behalf of my campuses. SFS/Socle was supposed to change all that, and for awhile it looked like it just might. They purged all of the financial aid experts, though, and started hiring more and more call center manager A-personality types. They are actually managed by an ex Princess Cruise Lines sales exec with no education experience. Now it's just a sweatshop with overworked/undertrained/abused staff and a bunch of douches walking around yelling at them. They actually became Global FAS, maybe even something worse. It's pretty bad that most of my campuses wish we had Global back!
Me again. I forgot to add that on a CP conference call last week, the comment was made that "Socle is the red-headed stepchild" by someone VERY high on the totem pole. My guess is that ECMC keeps Socle to keep aid dollars flowing for now, and then brings back the financial aid (including anything that Global used to do) back to the campuses.
There are some pretty strong indications behind the scenes that Socle is not expected to be here at all past 2015. There have been quite a few mentions of increasing SF presence in the schools and I once heard a CP say "since we'll have the financial aid process back." Not even most for-profits stick with the centralized processing model for long. It sounds good in theory because it's so cheap, but you always end up with a mess like Global, Socle, etc.

BC knows all about LS, for sure. We sent examples and follow-ups time & time again. Appears to be a black hole sending stuff to him. And that's confirmed from Regionals. We don't hear back, nothing changes and that's why campuses vent.
The answer is Socle is in the same boat as everyone else, waiting in their fate. And by the way - it wasn't the serfs that were saying we were not a part of CCi, that was management. And yes, I will agree about LS but nothing will be done about it until you let her bosses know. There is nothing pompous here just telling it like it is.
Socle never worked and never will work. They were so far behind getting students packaged the campuses always were busy straightening out the mess. It was another waste of millions on a failed spin off corporate tried. If CCi had the millions of dollars they wasted on call centers and Socle they may have been able to pay their bills.

I don't know where you have seen Socle employees SS but hoodies are not allowed in Socle AND we aren't typical call center because most of us are not on the phones. And 427 if you really feel the help desk doesn't give you good answers then I would suggest you contact Bruce Comer and let him know. rocks is so busy cleaning up the messes made by campus that they may not know the answer to your request.

I heard that the COS site was closing, so it made me think about the other locations. I was wondering if the processing would moved to the schools or if someone (like a Global) would be doing the processing for us. I am not impressed with Socle, I was hoping for good news that they would be disbanded.

I remember not so long ago how SOCLE employees came here, bashing us and telling us how they would be funding the colleges. Hmmmm. A dignified response? I won't stoop to the crap you've laid on us. Have you ever seen those people, typical call center folk. Hoodies, Multi-Colored Hair, Tat's and Piercings. Kind of took away what little professionalism we had.
If they do not keep them, they would be doing us a favor. Good lord they suck!
