the sev package is fairly standard in all the high-tech companies. And it's actually 1 week per year, over a certain min years. say you'd been in company for 12 years, so they might say we'll give you 1 week per year, but anything over 10 as the base. So you're getting 1 week's pay x 2 years. (12 years - 10) to quality. I would check as some companies are setting the min service years differently. the medical benefits for Cobra is standard too.
You get one week for every year of service to VMware - it needs to be a full year...
You will be kept on payroll for two months and get salary and benefits. You get 1 week for each year worked, and they will give you some cash (two thousands) for COBRA payments.
