Any updates on the layoffs as we enter into the end of the first quarter?
The only reason why the PA's and Bonus reviews matter at this point is an inventory of the cattle. They are not finished with culling the herd because a full top to bottom restructure is in effect. That also means some departments in WMS, Bally, SHFL and SG will have more shifting of the middle structure. It appears the proverbial 'upper deck' is mostly done.
I also think it redundant to say this, but I'll say in anyway: SG will look very different by summer, and I'm not sure if that will be good or bad. The re-shuffle needs to be completed very soon as share holders do not tolerate lengthy aquisition actions (which = costs) and the CEO's pushing hard for timely results. This is very typical of corporate takeovers driven by the weight of aquisition costs upon dividend/share price. Make no mistake, they will trim any weight necessary to keep the stock price up, which means they might make some cuts of key talent that isn't necessairly in their best interest.
We all know layoffs due to aquisition are a messy business, and some folks that go are victims of personal vendettas, others of age descrimination, yet others simply because they aren't neccesary to the new company.
Yes it was confirmed. There is further layoff will happen as phase-2 and phase-3. Hope so only the appraisal and bonus reviews are not yet initiated.
Yes , there are associate, senior managers who doesnt know what is development except copy/cut and paste work.
Hopefully, it could not happen to more deserving people. Upper and middle management are the worst and most dishonest people I have ever known.
That would make a lot of sense. Have you noticed all the employees with "manager" in their title. Who they managing by the way? Seems like it was a way to give them more money without any extra work,I guess it's time to cut them loose. Trust me they won't be missed.
