If they didn't use 20 year old Pos systems and 14 yr old software maybe this could have been avoided. Pretty much expected it when MS stopped supporting XP and dumbass Staples kept using it. At the same time we told customers to ditch their XP machines. Another case of not listening to our own advice.
Check for what? Skimmers?
Many other retailers have to check their pinpad devices during their mornin opening checklist. I always wondered why we were never required to check for security breaches daily.
