Heald to shut down

Heald is shutting down probably early next year and likely without a teach out. ALL of that (nonsense) about Heald being sold is just that NONSENSE. A minimum of 2 and more likely 6 potential purchasers have WALKED AWAY because of the potential liabilities due to the lawsuit. ALSO, WASC has told CCI that transfer of the accreditation is not a "done deal". ANY purchaser of Heald will have to REAPPLY to maintain the WASC accreditation.

Heald College remains in good standing with the WASC Senior College and University Commission; if this were not the case, the directory of accredited institutions published on wascsenior.org would indicate that Heald College were on "probation," "warning," "concern," or some other form of sanction. Poster 041 has stated that WASC wants to discard Heald College, but if Heald's accreditation were in jeopardy, there would be form of sanction appended to our listing in the directory of accredited institutions. Heald remains a viable institution that continues to meet accreditation standards, despite the recent difficulties. This has been accomplished thanks to the professionalism, intelligence, and integrity of employees. We haven't lost spirit and given up, despite the best efforts of the fear-mongers on this discussion board.

953 - I agree with you. It's apparent that many on this board would rather spread their anger and fear by posting lies, and attack anyone who has a differing opinion than they do.mits sad that so many feel they have to tear down those of us who choose to remain positive just to make themselves feel better. Very sad.

Augh... Isn't anyone listening? There is no such thing as transfer of accreditation. Accreditation may be viewed as a commodity by Wall Street analysts, but it is not an asset that is transferred from one entity to another. Heald College is the accredited entity, and Heald College LLC may be purchased by a new owner. If that owner wants Heald College to remain accredited, then they will need to work through WASC's substantive change review to secure approval for change of ownership prior to the sale. And I can assure you, WASC WILL expedite the approval process because their leadership is committed to supporting Heald through this change of ownership. I'm disappointed to see that my previous posts resulted in personal attacks against me. If reading procedural documents earns me derision on this board, so be it. My goal is to educate, not frighten, the readers. WASC's procedure are made available to the public, and it won't take the average reader much work to educate themselves and distinguish the fear mongers from the truth tellers on this discussion board.

@49788. Hate to give you the bad news but WASC isn't going to "expedite" a transfer of the accreditation.

825- you all are acting like young school children.Seriously, are we back middle school here? People, including you, are posting outrageous lies, and frankly it's getting a bit silly now. Anyone who posts shit like "there are no bidders for Heald", and "Heald is shutting down", or whatever other crap you can think of is just showing us how truly little they really know. Heald will sell, just wait and see.

Who gives a sh!t? All this proves is you spent the night eating your mom's cooking in the basement, reading the WASC transfer policy.

Dear 49788 - you are incorrect. There is not a single statement I the WASC policies that discusses accreditation "transfer." Heald College (not CCi) is the entity accredited by WASC, and as such WASC approves a change of ownership for Heald College. Procedurally, this can be expedited if necessary, which it will be. Fortunately, the intelligent readers of this posting will review WASC's published materials and quickly be able to identify which of us is right. In the interim, please stop lying.

@49777 Nope. ECMC press release explicitly mentions the lawsuit for the reason that CA CCI schools not being purchased.

@49783 Nope. Better read WASC procedures again. Heald had BIG problems with WASC as it is currently scheduled for a site review. Let's assume for arguments sake that WASC tells a prospective purchaser "NO WAY are we going to allow the accreditation to transfer" exactly what do you expect CCI to do about it ?

Evidence original poster is a fear-mongering troll: failure to accurately summarize WASC accreditation processes.the wascsenior.org org website publishes a substantive change manual, in which it specifies the factors reviewed by WASC for a change of ownership: financial viability of new owner, qualifications, and commitment to uphold WASC Senior standard. This process is not a reapplication for accreditation; it is a substantial change review. Very different. Li hope no one else dignifies the original post with any further responses.

Heald will be sold. If there wasn't a buyer already set in stone, then ECMC would have purchased Heald as well. The whole reason ECMC didn't buy them is because the buyer was chosen awhile ago.

@49766. We will soon see if OP knows what he is talking about. Most likely CCI is going to file Chapter 7 within a couple of weeks after the sale is concluded. Heald won't be sold.

@49766 Do your homework and get your GET then read the filings. Heald is also named in the lawsuits. Why does everyone think Heald is so great. They were going under before CCI overpaid for them and would probably be shut down by now if they were not acquired. I bet this poster is Matt Ormond.

Not true 766, the CA AG has named Heald it its suit. Read the complaint.

Hey OP, how about you just shut your cakehole. You obviously have no clue what you're talking about. 99.9% of the litigation and bad press is with Everest. I think it's great that many of the Everest campuses are selling and I wish everyone associated with those campuses congratulations, however that does not mean you can get away with making up shit about Heald now, so just shut the f$@k up.

Hardly but we will soon find out. If the above wasn't bad enough then the continuing over 10% enrollment drops on a quarterly basis will be the final nail in the coffin.
