The worst thing that any owner can do to its employees and customers (students) is drag out providing an answer on the future. Nothing can break a person more quickly than failure to communicate. Imagine a spouse who says that he or she is not sure whether they love you, so please wait 6 months while he or she thinks about it and then, maybe they'll give you an answer...and absolutely no hints one way or the other until then...no affection, no sex, no nothing as you walk past each other every day...agonizing

OP, hang in there, we'll make it through this.
There are lots of things worse than not sharing incomplete information about ongoing changes that are not finalized. Hiring awful managers,, as Heald has a track record of doing, is worse.
Sex? Who's been getting sex from Heald?
What if management really does not have the answer to give you? What if the sale is still up in the air? The choice is yours to stay, obviously no one is forcing you to wait. So why agonize yourself by wondering and by staying, if you know that there is a 50/50 chance that the answer will not be in your favor and you will be let go eventually. It is one thing to be optimistic, but it is another thing to be naive!
Please stop posting this crap on multiple boards. You are way too emotionaly involved in what is a common business scenario. Call Dr. Phil.
