Furniture Dept's are not safe at SDO's. Once the SDO's close down furniture will be moved to the closest FC's. Corp does not want to keep the bldg open just for furniture and the rest of the sales people will be working from home.

LOl...... a sheep being lead to the slaughter.... that's what they want everyone to think because too many people are quitting early and they can't make deliveries in some areas that are being affected. I stand by my other post.... March 2015 ALL SDOs will be closed.
I have been in the meetings..... I have the access.... I manage the team who will be making all the changes to make it work.

From what I've heard most of the SDOs are not closing. Very few were on the list
Usually the sales people stay intact... move to another office or some get to work from home...
What happens to the sales people who all work in the front sales offices of an SDO closing.. are they eliminated too or just moved to another building and jobs are safe? Or does everyone get cut loose eventually?

No it is not safe to go to the furniture department. I work in corporate.. I have seen the plans. Its close the SDOs first, then start eliminating or selling off the furniture department. They won't be able to sell because it is not worth anything.
The only SDOs which may survive are some in So Cal only because they have contractual issues with customers stating they have to have a staples employed driver deliver.... but we all know contracts are made to be broken.
What location are you at? From what Ive heard at the location Im at, Furniture team is OK for now.. but you just never know for how much longer. If you get a better offer from now til closing.. get out while you can you need to think of your future...
43452 - all SDOs by March 2015?? First I've heard of it......I mean, I know theyll close / are closing a LOT of SDOs right now, and more are slated.....but March 2015 sounds a bit premature. Any additional info you can share?
ALL the SDOs will be closed by March of 2015.... customers will no longer be able to actually get a Staples employee. Staples will lose more customers and sales dollars than they can save in expense dollars....
Furniture locations will be next in late 2015... don't waste your time
