Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Any news on SDO closings?

Heard a rumor today that some SDO's are also on the chopping block.

Another chink in the armor. Goliath is beginning to FALL!!

Well, there goes Pembroke Park, Florida. Staples plans to close the delivery facility and lay off 68 people, including 2 service delivery administrators along with the supervisors and delivery-related employees. Word had already spread 4 months ago that other Florida delivery sites (including those in major cities/markets) weren't secure, since other 3rd party carriers had been asked by Staples to put in "exploratory bid" scenarios to the company.

It's even a bit worse than everyone in the field sees, some of the reduction strategies I've seen are literally off the wall wild, an example would be to request all associates to use their personal social media accounts to promote company and be customers to do the same.

In our market we have been instructed to begin working with our AM's in regards to delivery being transitioned to a 3rd party courier. Let the complaints begin. Updating the old resume right now!

Only a matter of time. 3rd party is on stand by waiting for announcements to be made to customers and trans. associates who will be be impacted.

Haha I like this guy, it's not a fall, just diminishing size, profit, market share, and work environment quality. It's not a fall, just going to hell in a handbasket. What a tool, he probably is the one who posted earlier that it will all be okay.

If you read our financial reports you'll notice that it's not a fall, it's merely planned right-sizing
