So the executive team lead by Eeva is coming to Stockton on Sept 4th. When is your campus being visited? Please post updates of the visit if it happens before Thursday.

Town Halls… those are what the executive visits are called

They have sales backgrounds. Their prior experience was in selling electronics at Best Buy or renting furniture to poor people at Rent-a-Center. That skill set fits perfectly with CCI's business model. At a legitimate educational institution, those people would be working in the bookstore or the cafeteria.

There are regional corporate directors who don't have degrees at all. How did that happen?

Totally agree with 32124!!!

We had lots of people who had no business on a college campus. Still have a few. But this should be a priority. Only people with proper degrees and successful experience should be hired-at all levels!!!

We had poor leadership when we were a non-profit. With quality leadership, we can do much better. Don't hire sales goons. Don't hire people who lack credentials. Hire a president who has proper credentials to be a college president and who has successful experience as the president of a non-profit regionally accredited college. That's a start. Get rid of people who have only for-profit experience.

When (if?) sale becomes official, Heald will still operate as a for-profit.

We sucked and nearly went bankrupt when non profit

Several former for-profits have switched to non-profit status. The buyer of Heald needs to consider that option. Keiser U. did it several years ago and is still going strong.

I'm praying for an investment team. Then we can be like we were back then. But it's true. Why invest without a healthy return?

I agree with 31638. It is hopeful and would be ideal. Like it was in 2007 and on. But that's when we were at our lowest and the industry was heading into a boom with the recession on the rise back then. Most investment companies want a to sell high and quick. That's what happened in 2010 with the Palm Group and Heald back then.

31501: that would be ideal for investors, but at the same time, for profits are on the down fall, so we're not likely a desirable investment.

News media has been hitting campuses, students and anyone with information seeking information about the school.

31494: The possible new owners are most likely a venture capital or private equity group.

I guess the joke about going to Stockton for a vacation was over a few heads here. Sorry.

Q: Will we continue to have a management team with the possible new owners if they are also WASC?

The notion of vacation is a little silly. They are only about an hour away at the new offices in Walnut Creek. It is not like when we were flying Sharlee in from Florida for God sake.

Q: if we do get a new owner, will the 10% be reversed and will we get back what we've lost already?

Their visit is long overdue - this visit will be damage control - like visiting the aftermath of the earthquake destruction

Good point 31473. There was one holiday party where only a select few at the HQ office got to go on. It was lavish. The other HQ workers in lower level, but important, positions got a lunch where the food ran out. A few of us felt uncomfortable. The only reason we went was because we didn't even know about the separation of parties. I gave my pashmina scarf to one of them. The intent was good, but really was not thought through and came across as insensitive.

They can stay connected as long as they take public transportation and bring their own lunches from home. We can't afford plush executive junkets to vacation spots like Stockton.

Vacation? Are you kidding me? They're doing a day trip I'm sure. And I'm glad they are coming. Too many companies have CEOs who hide behind closed doors and teleconference calls. This is an example of a management team trying to stay connected with campuses.

Don't expect an announcement of a buyer.

How much money are they spending on this vacation to Stockton? I hope they are taking the bus. Why not do a conference call and save money?

They use to call the executive visits something like a State of the Union, I forgot what they were called. Nolan and Eeva did campus visits for announcements. They stopped after Eeva left.

It's for a Q & A session with the staff and faculty. They're visiting every campus.
