It's only a matter of time before Staples gets rid of the bonuses. I bet you will never see a bonus ever again. There will always be something that prevents then from paying out.
There are stores that actually did beat budget last year, yet no bonuses for those managers. Ron and his crew totally fail their objectives, but hey, two years with no bonuses is bad for morale..... So they take a "discretionary" fund and pay themselves a bonus while the people that actually did their jobs get stiffed. Many GMs actually want Ron and Demos to visit their stores so they can unload on them for their betrayal.
Haha so true! There's even more than that, this morning I was reading an article about best buy struggling to compete with Amazon, but he writes at least they're not in nearly as bad a shape as radioshack, jcpenny, sears, and staples. We're officially in the ranks of failed has beens! Thanks Framingham!
There is also a subreddit on Reddit that seems to be more active than any of the ones mentioned. I work at pencils is pretty much dead, the guy that ran it got fired for it. Yes, Staples has garnered a lot of hate because the keep screwing over their employee base while giving more and more to the upper echelon, who are responsible for the company's decline in the first place. ...................................................................Let's cut pay to as close to minimum wage as possible............................................................. Let's run the stores on as little payroll as possible, then go in and rip them for not getting all tasks done.....lets take Spiffs and CPC bonuses away and offer monopoly money instead.....Lets sell mobile phones and not give the stores any training on the differences of the phones and the service plans or the activation systems. ......Awe, we didn't make EPS for the second year in a row, no bonuses again ....wait - Ron wants to make sure we retain those people in Framingham that worked so hard to screw the stores over, let's give them 20% of whatever bonus they would have gotten if they did their jobs right in the first place....
