Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

Life after Staples

So what is there out there for us lifers that thought we would work for Staples for 45 years and retire, but got laid off after 20?

Anything other than retail?

Run! No hope here only uncertainty and threats. This is no joke - find employment elsewhere. I'm so tired of playing the game and being two-faced. 22 years of my life wasted...I'm outta here in 2 weeks!

I wish you and all others affected by this the very best.

Depends on position and level of comp. the more money you make the harder it will be. Your experience will show and you will quckly advance in anything you set to do, the transition is hard as you will have to start lower but you will climb the ladder VERY quickly. If dyou have patience and fin means to wait a year or two you will climb the ladder and will bounce back. We were paid jackshit anyway, go into sething that has to do with tech, health, finance, pharma, they pay well even for

Junior positions. I was an associate but did transfer to data entry 2 tears ago, 11/hr, hard job, now i am desktop support at 52k/year, no degree, 27yo, hope this helps
