The split move is very logical, however, it'll cost a lot and many people will get hosed in the process. HP Corporate hardware and services operations are hot right now, but it does not have to stay that way forever. At the same time, if the computer and printer businesses find a formula to grow, this may be an interesting play. Let's see what happens. I've been with HP since 2010, so I've seen some weird stuff happen here, I am concerned that my group will be hit hard but I think all of us have a ton of skills and that if we are let go we could be able to quickly find a comparable job to the one we have with HP.
