I dont think we will be shut down, because we are what a SDO is supposed to look and run like. i believe it is all rumors and everybody needs to relax.

They've already closed 6 in 2013 and 2014 and announced 12 more for late 2014 or early 2015. That only leaves about 35 SDO's left. I'm sorry if you work there now anon42570 but do the math...

Yes Tampa will close. Closing slotted for Q2 of 2015 --if you have less 5 years under your belt, find employment elsewhere and run!
currently working in one of the offices where the SDO is closing and the transition to 3rd party is underway. heard from a driver that an account our sales team worked on for 6 months to bring on board was quickly lost when a courier dropped the "f" bomb to the front office associate when delivering an order. People love our drivers as they become the face of our company... they will be missed and will eventually be realized they are/were the glue that holds it together..
All the SDO's will be closed by the end of next year and maybe your location will be one of the last one's. Let's hope and pray that the one's that were just told have a very big effect on the Customers and leave and go to Depot/Max. The Customers love seeing the Staples Drivers and probably not so much when the couriers start delivering in wife-beater shirts.
Sorry you are scheduled for a mid year budget annulment.
Hopefully yours wont be shut down..but some already have received notice they are. Its sad to see our drivers facing this situation. I wish the best to you all. Hang in there and pray
