I think in April/May timeframe (again) the assistants will dissolve in stores under $5m. They will be replaced with another Lead Sales Consultant, this one will be called Lead Sales Consultant of Sales. What stupid names. Then suddenly you have the same structure that Depot had before the hostile merger of equals. And running a store on 4 keys is impossible. Sr. Sales Consultants of Print have way too much to do to open and close the store and the 1000 tasks that go with it. Part Time Supervisors (key holders) will start Q3 (ala Staples) and work 3 closing shifts per week, and only utilized when the Store Manager opens.
Watch for waves of early closing times (8pm M-F) to start Q1. Late open times (9am) starting Q2. Stores under $3m that aren't closed in 2015 will have the option to close at 7pm.
Frankly, it is not going to be revisited until halfway through Q2 2015. The hope is not too. But what you currently see is the payroll your store can afford. Depot/Max is no longer dishing out payroll based on how long (hours) it takes to do the tasks in the activity calendar X your store's average wage. The current payroll is the payroll that allows the store to be profitable. And it's not much payroll. At all. Get ready for the heaviest 10 weeks of planograms either company has ever seen, with extremely small amounts of labor.
not yet... But you will see a significant reduction in store hours. HP and Epson are financial messes and can't fund what they used to fund for us, endcaps, labor, priority positions, FSMs, etc.
so what do you think?
