I got a large bonus and huge stock options. Having a golden parachute, control of little people's lives, a possible seat on the board of a company for retirement due to the club I belong to, and being able to ride off into the sunset at any time - Priceless. PR

Yes and Florida is an at will employment state. While most of the managers are pretty dumb now, they probably will not write down "talked about salary" on the pink slip. More like, position not longer needed, or did you hear about the layoffs already?

Just to clarify: It is perfectly legal to tell your salary and bonus to others. It is illegal for companies to impose any pay secrecy policies.

Excerpted from http://www.npr.org/2014/04/13/301989789/pay-secrecy-policies-at-work-often-illegal-and-misunderstood

Under the National Labor Relations Act, enacted in 1935, private-sector employees have the right to engage in "concerted activities for the purpose of collective bargaining or other mutual aid or protection."

The language is somewhat antiquated, but according to Estlund, "it means that you and your co-workers get to talk together about things that matter to you at work."

Compensation is one of those things you can talk about. The National Labor Relations Board, says Estlund, "has long held that these pay secrecy policies that many employers have in writing violate the National Labor Relations Act."

Over 7 years, the average has always been:

3% ($2.5k)

2.5% bonus (around $3k)

One year - just one a while back - I had a manager give me a 7% raise and 5% bonus based on my review and how much less I was paid compared to my peers. Managers are stuck too...they know the pay discrepancy. If you're $10k behind your peers, do the math to see how long it would take them with average bonuses and raises to catch you up to them.

Seriously, this is a great way to empower ourselves, that's why management fears it so much. If people find out they're making less, they will leave. And then they'll have to implement pay equity.

So..IT $3600 bonus. The ususal for profit sharing, etc.

keep it generic. if you give your specific job title, they can probably narrow down who posted what. but if you say ops, it, FA, whatever and give a general idea of your area, it may be easier to stay anonymous. also, keep the numbers and percentages generic.

So saying I am a Financial Compliance Advisor II with $2,000 bonus and a 2.1% raise cannot be traced down to a person or two in RJ? You know they have computers now a days right? Not saying you shouldn't do it, just saying it is really unwise. Just going to the organizational chart with a Financial Compliance Advisor II search will narrow it down to a few percentage points of people in RJ. Looking up those numbers for a few people is not hard.

You are lying. Nobody is that stupid to place that data down. It will be easy to track. Everybody knows Andy Zolper and Bella are monitoring this site at RJ to hang some people since they are thin skinned.
