Thread regarding Heald College layoffs

Corinthian Colleges tells investors it is facing a criminal probe

Could this be the reason we are not being bought out yet?

The challenge is that we're the most expensive brand of all CCI brands. Even though they are getting us for 15% the purchase price CCI originally bought us for. Buyers will see that it's not only the campuses they are getting… but all the outside issues with it. Primarily being on the radar of the AG. The best thing is actually for a non profit to buy us and let us run like a for profit.

Heald strong! We'll get through this.

This is unfortunate. Heald has a low cohort default rate compared to the national average. Heald has 150 years of American history on the line. If CCi had not acquired Heald in 2010, we would not be going through this. The government does have a plan... And it does not include for profit education. I wish there were a way for for profit and not for profit to collaborate.

Possibly. On the Corinthian board, there's a discussion on Conspiracy Theory or Masterplan of the government that the intent is to not even have campuses sold, but completely shut down. So the additional investigations will make all campuses look less desirable to buyers. The investigation may last months and if we are trying to sell by October, then it delays a buy out. Also the buy out May be incumbent on the criminal findings. No school system wants to adopt that. This is a game changer for all campuses in the US, even Heald and Wyotech who had the best chances of being bought.
