Wow, what a deal! Just another reason for our customers to hate us. We push more random crap than a garbage compactor while at the same time changing policies that devalue our customer base. What an amazing time to be a staples lackey.

Is this just a test or company wide? Last time there was a test it was 2% back on everything, 5% back on everything, and 5% off instantly. The 5% back won out for years. What can we do to get to 70% rewards penetration like CVS?
But then again, does it really matter? 30% of our customers have reward cards. The reality is they are no more loyal to us than Officeax, or Depot. They have those cards too.
What are we doing wrong? Why do executives think high rewards penetration means a stronger company.
Rewards cards were a fad. One that old outdated 1980's companies are hanging onto.
Time for one savings pass across all retail. Let each retailer choose how much to give off wth the pass. It becomes a bidding war. Like Student Advantage Savings Pass was. Kmart is giving 60% on pillows, Walmart is giving 50% back and a free stick of deodorant, and Target is giving 12% off instantly.
Yeah that's why we never bothered with it in Staples Canada, you had to spend way too much to get anything back, it was a joke.
I don't understand how they plan on keeping rewards penetration up with these changes. Customers are just gonna say oh its not worth it for you to scan my card/look it up, etc. It's a slap in the face to our customers.
