Yes - I can definitely confirm that AECOM had layoffs in 2014. I was one of them...including many others.... some from my office. It doesn't matter how good you are at what you do or that you perform many tasks that are not project chargeable in full (like business development, quality control tasks etc), if you are not project billable at least 80% of the time - every week - then "the ax man cometh".
Since the acquisition of URS to AECOM...........It is now April 2015 (I work for AECOM - legacy URS)... people are dropping like flies... layoffs and people leaving out of fear. Not the company I worked for (URS) at all... layoffs are phoned in... not even in person. SCARY for all of us still employed. Just a matter of time.
