Thread regarding Staples Inc. layoffs

On may 20 they will begin the DM reductions. Stores can expect major cuts to operating expenses, and any of the few perks left revoked.

Thing like .56 per mile will be reduced, obviously hours, and discretionary positions, I.e. we dont need techs if we have a manager and the Matrix.

DMs are being cut West to East. If you really want to know, go into R2W and see which districts are being transitioned.

Are you kidding? They termed like 14 DMs that day, 2 RVPs just got pushed out and up to 70 more DMs will be shed over the next several months!

It is now 5/28.

Have not heard of any more DM's getting let go since the few in March.

Have not heard anything about not getting paid mileage for Tech on-sites or meetings.

If they do not pay mileage they can forget about onsite tech services and any offsite meetings.

Other expenses are simply a matter of time.

But hey, they have $1.5 Billion in the bank so they're healthy, right?

i think .56 is a federal or state mandate, i do not think they can decide to pay milage less than .56, not an accountant so take this with a grain of salt

3rd party just got a call for an additional 85 slated closures that they'll have to process, they were specifically told to not tell anyone.
