Do we know how many people were let go here in SAP (USA) and what our plans for next quarters are as it relates to layoffs. I've heard a ton of rumors but it's hard to figure out what's really happening as there is quite a bit of noise and unreliable information out there. I know that some of our competitors (e.g., Oracle) have been cutting folks for a while and I wander if SAP will be able to avoid this scenario.

There were approximately 660 cuts in the USA NSQ location and 400 in the rest of NA including our Vancouver office. The US took the biggest hit since most of the all States are "At Will" so you can fire anyone you want. FTEs were hit hardest and they did not renew Contractors unless there was an approved use case. There is still a lot of dead weight at SAP with many Good Ole Boys club who are still protected. Many FTEs dump their work load on Contractors and were blindsided by the layoffs. The goal was to get rid of SAP US veterans with high salaries and bring in millennials at lower pay despite what management told everyone. The Walldorf, Germany headquarters will not see a significant loss due to the protection of the Works Council which is quite similar to American Unions where they protect employees despite good or bad job performance.
I think cuts in North America will be significant, that's it.
