cuts across the board, last say for several people is this friday. looks like upper management contacted lower management and said "pick ## people and get rid of them before the end of March"

8000 seems a bit excessive - do you have anyone affected?
I was laid off on March 28th. I know for a fact that layoff decisions were made by people three levels above me by people that didn't know me, didn't know my work, and will remain anonymous forever.
It gets worse, but I'm not prepared to reveal some of the worst of it.
word is that 8,000 people were laid off worldwide today
Dozens of people impacted today and last week. The objective is to lower the ratio of US to offshore resources. No matter what talent or skills are lost, the goal is cut experienced, competent talent and replace with low cost offshore.
