I've spent few years with Entropic, we had regular layoffs and if you are planning to spend time with EC you should be ready for things like this. Working for Entropic is difficult to describe as my team was pretty good but I did not like many other things with the company. The pay was OK, could have been better though. We went thru very tough times in 2008 and 2009 but things started picking up after that and I think you guys will have a fairly good 2014 with no layoffs. Many people who work for ENTR are awesome but there is some back-stubbing and things like that - you will not enjoy that part for sure. Overall, I would not be too concerned with layoffs, you need to make sure you negotiate a good compensation package for yourself and the rest of the stuff will be just OK - it's likely your team will be pretty good and there are many many companies that do worse than ENTR so, give it a try. Good luck...

"... fairly good 2014 with no layoffs" - Well that didn't work out so well did it. I'm glad I bailed out of there in 2013. A bit sad for some of the good people who stuck around only to get let go later.
So, a lengthy post but you never told us anything substantial. Entropic is not good but it's OK, it sucks but it's fine. So, which is it?
