Thread regarding Accenture Ltd. layoffs

Accenture Services Layoffs

My comments apply to the services side of our business, I cannot comment on Consulting and ATS positions as I rarely cross paths with folks who work there. Anyhow, I am sure what I am about to write somewhat can be applied to Consulting and ATS, but again, that's just and assumption. My main concern as it relates to Accenture is relating to the fact that Accenture lays off employees that have been working there for many years. Accenture lets them go and tells them them that there are no positions available. At the same time, as they let people go there is a push to fill similar roles with new hires. So, at the same time that they are doing the downsizing, you can find positions on job boards saying that they are hiring. It makes no sense to me - how you can tell current employees that are about to be laid off that there are no available positions available but advertise that you are hiring on hiring boards. Why not make use of current employees to other positions that have knowledge of processes instead of hiring new employees that require even more training? Yes, Accenture will redeploy some folks but why not redeploy huge majority of workers instead of having multiple training classes full of new Accenture people? Working here at Accenture, you are not able to plan anything in your life because you are living day to day... You will constantly have to wander wondering if you will have a job or not. That is simply no way to live and this is what makes working at Accenture very stressful.
