The merger will result in many people losing jobs - you'll see some consolidations of operations, you'll also see finance, legal, HR and IT jobs vanish. I think that US Foods will be hit more, but you never know what will happen. Sysco is fairly well managed, us at US Foods have some issues, I would not be surprised to see many many senior folks from US Foods depart relatively quickly.

You are correct; I currently work for Sysco and they have already started consolidating positions. The really crazy thing is....they are talking about holding associates accountable and work ethics, but who is being held accountable for this billion dollar screw up?? Why are the associate being held at higher standards NOW?? Why are we paying for someone else's greed????
