If you cannot open the (anon) file that somebody posted below here is a summary of what he said (I am paraphrasing it a bit): Additional context as for the events that took place over last few days. Background: few months ago, late summer, we had some indications that our revenues are down, costs continue to be in line with budget but continue to climb. There were things in motion to look at our strategy. Sept and Oct we started rolling out corporate strategy. Business units were refreshing strategies, Travel Network started working on the “Revolution” strategy… Looking at opportunities to increase revenue and control cost. We need some type change, we expect change, keeps company thriving, we all recognize we have to operate differently to stay in line of tech and ahead of competitors and in contact w/our customer needs. Some tough changes are needed, we need to be more efficient. We got to prioritize things, many things we can do, some we cannot, some tough decisions have to be made. Unfortunately, we’ll have to eliminate some positions.
Messages communicated with Deb, a number of employee positions will be eliminated, contracting firms will be affected, we believe that we’ll be able to better align our org, blah, blah… A couple of ago, the rate of increase in our cost was outpacing our revenue growth, and we had to make certain cuts. We’ll have to go beyond personnel changes, this affects all of us. I respect all of you, emptions, support, need to move forward, transformation, business objectives, opportunities, blah, blah…
Had we not started back in September, we’d not be able to make good decisions, but we did and now we have a good and clear picture about what to do. This initial phase is wrapping up in terms of evaluating strategies. We’ll do things better now. We can support our strategy and long term success. Continuous improvement will be ongoing. Let’s work together…
