Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

WARN not required for SABRE

Travelocity is in the midst of something like 80% reduction in force and is covered by the WARN act which explains the 60 day notice period. SABRE layoffs seems to be broken up enough that they don't qualify, since so many people are in other countries which have their own requirements. Apparently in Poland when you do layoffs you have to have an ambulance available. The whole AX (which seems a better name now for SABRE) is clearly aligned with IPO requirements, the window for an IPO won't last long so they have to do it quick. Bain & Company is always brought in for the purpose of figuring out how to cut workforce. Virtually all of the leadership team is now new, again for the purpose of IPO. This is the bad side of being owned by venture funds, eventually they want their money back.
