Thread regarding FedEx Corp. layoffs

we cut over 1000 positions from 130 facilities in 2009 - now the economy is picking up and online sales are good so there is no reason for fear, fedex is doing just fine. but at the same time look at ups, they have issues and they are letting people go - you never know in this industry, margins are thin and there is competition, things change all the time and you have to react quickly. we laid off many kinkos people, we keep closing them down, that acquisition did not go well and is one example of how things can get bad quickly. so stay on your toes if you are with fedex.
