Thread regarding Safeway Inc. layoffs

This is nothing for Safeway, it’s a blip, we close stores all the time, and open stores all the time, we buy companies, we sell companies, we shut them down, we build and destroy at the same time. I also agree that selling Dominic’s would be a better move, but sometimes you do not have a buyer or selling stuff would be more expensive than shutting it down and I think that’s what’s going on right now. Someone else will walk into this situation and make a buck – so, loss for Safeway, an opportunity for someone else…
