Thread regarding DIRECTV Group Inc. layoffs

I had worked at directv for years doing testing/QA assignments as a contractor. All of a sudden, they said they would enforce CA's "18 months" labor law. They let me and other people go. I found a new job. Four months later they called me back and offered a job. I played along and pretended I was unemployed. The rate that they offered me was $17/hour! I was making about $32/hour prior to being let go. Don't treat us like kids. What a shame! Sure you have a lot of cheaper testers in Vietnam that could do our tasks but don't insult us like this. I will never forget the ones that treated me so badly when I worked there. Karma is a btch. I hope our professional paths will cross again. It will be payback time. Fck you.
