Whoa! How many managers does it take to manage 12 workers? This is not a joke. The answer is definitely not 9.

The make-up of the reorganized Communications team (formerly Marketing and Communications) is offensive to all CHK employees who want to trust that senior management is respectful to hardworking employees and capable of executing the company's transition.

On Monday last week we saw terminations of 9 individual contributors but no members of management. In fact at least two manager promotions were made the same day.

The Communications team now has 12 individual contributors being managed by 9 management contributors: 1 Sr. Director, 3 Sr. Managers, 2 Managers, and 3 Supervisors. This span of control is incredibly disrespectful to hardworking employees.

How many managers does it take to manage 12 workers? One? Maybe two? Definitely not 9. It does not take four layers of management to manage 12 workers.
