All my friends in the company in drilling, finance, asset management, and engineering have been interviewing with several of the super majors and smallers as well. The oilfield overall is doing well right now and chesapeake is more the exception than the rule. The other companies smell the blood in the water and are eager to poach the better performers. Heck, even Anadarko is hiring former chk people now or doing final stage interviews at least. Can't speak to land as its very rough there, but if you are worth your stuff, just leave when you can.
