Black and Veatch treats each division as a business unto it self. What that means is when one group is down on work, this time the Federal Services Division, employees do not get absorbed into other divisions that are doing well. There may be 300 available jobs, but the layed off employees were not even given the option of transferring . Too bad for the employees, but shame on the company! Loyal long term employees are valuable assets! Training costs are lower if you transfer between divisions then if you hire new people. You also train people up and invest in them for other companies to gain the experience you paid for. Shame on Black and Veatch.
