Kudos to "Nobody Special"! Everything you said was DEAD ON! I was also let go last week after several years of blood, sweat, and tears. I am one of the ones who stuck it out even though I felt trapped in my position and was constantly pressured into taking on more responsibilities just to meet expectations. I recently took on a new role in my department. From the beginning, I felt like I was being set up for failure. As you said, NO TRAINING was not provided, nor has training EVER been provided. The limited documentation that exists is inaccurate and/or out of date. Your only option is to shadow co-workers and take good notes. Then I was accused of relying too much on co-workers! How else am I supposed to learn the job with no training?? To top that off, I was forced to train a Contractor, who is probably doing my job now, although not very well! RJ wants us to perform at the highest level to provide the best service to the client. However, they are not willing to invest the money for training or to adequately compensate those who spend most of their time trying to correct the problems created by the sub-par technology RJ chooses to use (i.e. Sophos)!
